Agriculture Industry Tour - Fall
Since 2016, Young Professionals in Agriculture (YPiA) has hosted an Agriculture Industry Tour in the fall for members to experience a different region of the United States (outside of Iowa). The trip allows attendees to see first-hand the view of how agriculture in the region is different, yet is closely connected to Iowa agriculture.
SAVE THE DATE!
Our 2019 Fall Agriculture Industry Tour will take place September 25-28, 2019, in Montana and Idaho.
We're tentatively planning to fly into Missoula, Montana and depart from Idaho Falls, Idaho.
Stay tuned -- many more details to follow!
The Iowa Soybean Association has graciously agreed to sponsor our tour.
The 2018 event is complete. Archived information is listed below for reference only.
The 2018 tour took attendees to the Carolinas (North Carolina and South Carolina). The three-day trip traveled from Raleigh, NC to Charleston, SC to a variety of farms, from sweet potatoes to soybeans, pigs to peanuts and everything in-between. Attendees stopped at an agriculture research center and had the opportunity to visit with local agriculture leaders during the tour.
YPiA provided funds for the trip, as well as the Iowa Soybean Association and National Pork Board, our trip sponsors. The cost for participants was $400, which included the cost of shared hotel rooms, onsite transportation, and meals. Participants booked and paid for their own airfare.
Past tours included the following:
2018: Southeast (North Carolina and South Carolina)
2017: Northeast (Maryland, Pennsylvania, and New Jersey)
2016: Pacific Northwest (Washington and Oregon)
Thank you to our sponsors for the support of this annual tour!
